The Pesta Jagung or maize
festival is held in the district
of Kota Marudu, on the 10th -
11th of November 2012.
Maize is the most important
source of food supply and partly
as an income generating
for folks living in Kota Marudu,
in Sabah. For decades this event
marked the importance of Maize
Fest people of Kota Marudu
especially and hence indirectly
have been attracting local
tourists to Kota Marudu. Thus
encouraging tourism activities
as a whole.
This event highlights
the significance of this plant
to the people as maize is an
important part of living in Kota Marudu. This annual festival
which celebrates the local maize
industry features interesting
exhibitions and a myriad of
activities including the Maize
Lantern and Cultural Parade,
traditional sports and games
together with a Local Handicraft
Exhibition.

Design Competition and join in
